Session: Integrating Angular with ASP.NET Core RESTful Services

Learn how to integrate Angular services with ASP.NET Core RESTful endpoints and connect all of the dots together. In this talk, Microsoft MVP and Google GDE Dan Wahlin will show how to create a RESTFul service in ASP.NET Core and then call it using the Http client in Angular via GET/PUT/POST/DELETE requests. Topics covered along the way include RxJS and Observables as well as best practices to employ when building services.

Workshop, 29th May: Angular Core Concepts (CLI, Data Binding/Templates, Components)

In this workshop you’ll be taught by Google Developer Expert Dan Wahlin about the core concepts of the Angular framework and the benefits that Single Page Applications (SPAs) can offer. The workshop starts by introducing the Angular CLI and shows how to get an Angular project up and running quickly. You’ll learn about several productivity features that the CLI offers and why it’ll be your “go to” tool as you work with Angular. After creating an Angular project, you’ll learn how to create components, work with data binding in templates, understand how to communicate between components using input/output bindings, and learn the role that ES2015 and Angular modules play. By the end of the workshop you’ll have a solid understanding of the role of components and modules and be ready for Day 2 of the workshop.

Workshop, 30th May: Angular Essentials (Services, HTTP, RxJS, Routing, Forms)

In this workshop you’ll learn about Angular services, dependency injection, HTTP calls to RESTful services, RxJS and observables, and how code can be abstracted out of components to make it more reusable. You’ll also learn about different form techniques for capturing and validating data as well as key routing features such as child routes, route parameters (both snapshot and observable parameters), and lazy loading. Throughout the workshop best practices and architectural concepts will be covered so that you leave with a solid understanding of how to structure your projects back at work.
